From last week.
Reasonable weekend. Mostly.
AFL, 6/9: Geelong demonstrated why they were worthy of a tip, but also lost by demonstrating why everyone else was tipping against them. Not even their mothers tipped Port Adelaide. If North Melbourne want to declare they should start playing cricket instead. Carlton may be as soft as I thought Adelaide used to be.
NRL, 4/5: It’s a bit tricky when representative players are rested before State of Origin. Cronulla without Carney and Gallen are a much diminished team, but who knew Canterbury’s twin brothers who can play were going to turn up and sub for their less talented siblings who’ve been running around of late? Which group will turn up next game? I bet their coach wishes he’d like to know.
And the Queensland Reds continue to gather momentum as players return.
More on tomorrow night’s State Of Origin later.
