Some fuss (read: calculated publicity drive) over this report about an Australian Masterchef contestant who declined to address the Dalai Lama as ‘Your Holiness’, instead preferring something like ‘Dalai’.
(Apparently the Dalai Lama is not a guest ‘judge’, perhaps he’s going to give advice about how each dish serves to advance or hinder the path to enlightenment.)
Anyway, those of you who read here know I’m not big on honorifics generally, but scruples aside, how great would it be to spend a day addressing anyone as ‘Mr Lama’?
