Lucky Nathan Campbell.
He gets to attend the Queensland Theological College AND have guest lectures by people like David Cook, outgoing principal of the Sydney and Missionary Bible College and all-round Australian evangelical Bible teaching legend.
But at least Nathan’s generous enough to share the crumbs that fall from the table with the rest of us.
Normally I’d paste a slab of what he’s written here as enticement to go and check out the rest, but surely I don’t have to do that this time.
You’re only getting one point out of the ten:

Make the heart of your sermon explanation, not illustration/application – the text has the power. Not your illustration. Better the textual and dull preacher than the interesting but not textual. Better to be both. Don’t rush to illustration before you’ve preceded it with explanation.
