A couple of informative posts exploring C. S. Lewis’ understanding of the Christian doctrine of the atonement, drawn principally from Mere Christianity.
First, from Kevin DeYoung, on his blog at the Gospel Coalition.
Secondly, William B. Evans, debuting at Reformation 21.
These posts further the basic proposition that we can, and should, affirm all that authors such as Lewis write which is biblical, true and helpful, while at the same time, not impute to them a theological position (usually something akin with our own) simply to make us feel comfortable about liking them and benefiting from their works.
