Yesterday my daughter thought she’d slept through her iPhone’s alarm.
Plausible explanation.
But wrong.
The alarm never sounded.
She wasn’t alone.

THE Y2K bug has finally struck more than a decade late – or so thousands of iPhone owners felt when their alarm clocks failed to chirp in the new year.
The now ubiquitous device stayed mute for anybody who had relied on the built-in alarm to wake them after a long night partying, in what has been dubbed the 1/1/11 glitch.
Unsuspecting iPhone owners were again left to slumber yesterday as their alarms failed to sound, but the software problem will reportedly resolve itself automatically today as the year enters its third day.
