Lula Bell the camel stumbles and falls into the congregation during a Christmas pageant in a US church.
The pastor responsible is blaming the camel’s knee.
The camel involved is probably blaming the pastor’s lack of knowledge about what’s appropriate for a church service.
Apparently no camels or congregants were harmed.
A report from Melbourne’s Herald Sun states:
MEMBERS of church congregation in Florida got a shock when a 1000-pound (453kg) camel fell on to a number of people seated in pews during a Christmas pageant dress rehearsal, the Palm Beach Post reported today.
After entering the First Baptist Church in West Palm Beach on Thursday night, Lula Bell attempted to fold herself into a sitting position called “cushing.”
But instead she stumbled and knocked her rider, a man playing the third wise man, into the audience.
No one was hurt in the accident, but the camel landed on a number of people seated at the show.
The church’s pastor, Chuck Lewis, said Lula Bell’s right front knee had been bothering her prior to the fall.
As a safety precaution, Lula Bell will not take part in the pageant which runs throughout the weekend.
The church was assessing the role of a donkey in the same show, but said some sheep and two lambs would continue to perform.
