Behold The Lamb Of God is now my favourite Christmas musical.
Resurrection Letters Volume II is an evocative collection of folk/pop songs that display Peterson’s skill as a poet, storyteller and musician.
I eagerly await his upcoming release, Counting Stars. Sadly for me, none of the (seven!!) prepurchase options really suit this overseas buyer.
Here’s a video of one of the tracks, Dancing In The Minefields, a song about marriage.
The song displays Peterson’s strengths: inviting melody, strong story-telling, emotionally engagment without trite sentimentality with a light touch.
If you’re inclined toward that sort of thing, you may find a tissue handy if you have a listen. His lyrics just sneak up on you.
