This side of heaven our identity as God’s people is shown in the love we have for one another in our disagreements and failings, not the absence of disagreements and failings. Many churches will contend that they are loving and peaceful fellowships while unacknowledged and unresolved disputes and hurts between groups and individuals eat away at their spiritual vitality.
