Q What does the conclusion of the Lord’s Prayer teach us?
A The conclusion of the Lord’s Prayer, which is, For Yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen, teaches us to take our encouragement in prayer from God only,1 and in our prayers to praise Him, ascribing kingdom, power, and glory to Him;2 and, in testimony of our desire, and assurance to be heard, we say, Amen.*3
*1 Daniel 9:4, 7-9, 16-19; Luke 18:1, 7-8.
*2 1 Chronicles 29:10-13; 1 Timothy 1:17; Revelation 5:11-13
*3 1 Corinthians 14:16; Revelation 22:20. He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
