Christian life is the perspective looking back on everything needed having been done, not looking forward in any way shape or form to anything that still needs to be done.
O Come, Let Us Sing To The LORD (Psalm 95) and Oh, The Splendour Of His Greatness prepare us, with Come Thou Fount Of Every Blessing commencing worship.
Our prayer of adoration and confession will focus on the peace and certainty which is ours in our relationship with God, seeking forgiveness for transgression and also confessing our inclination to look to things we do to cement God’s acceptance of us.
May The Mind Of Christ My Saviour will be our song of testimony and consecration.
After the assurance of pardon, we’ll state the Apostles’ Creed and sing Worship, Honour, Glory, Blessing.
In God’s Word, John 7:25-52 contains Jesus teaching about himself being the solution to human thirst.
We’ll spend our last time learning Jeremiah chapter 31, verse 33 b.
We’ll teach everyone another song for the young of heart (and Isabelle’s favourite) that contains a very important truth, Our God Is A Great Big God.
Reading from Hebrews 10:1-18, we’ll continue to consider the vital importance of resting solely in the finished work of Christ, considering the difference between that and continual sacrifices. With Christ having come they are not complementary, but looking forward to more actions to be done to be righteous with God undermines all that Christ gives us in salvation.
After our pastoral prayer, we’ll give our tithes and offerings, then conclude worship singing Blessed Assurance.
