Certain phrases in Scripture have a particular power because of their clarity and impact.
So it is when we read in Hebrews 9:26 that Jesus appeared ‘once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.’
This week at mgpc we’ll delve into the truth and importance of that fact.
I To The Hills Will Lift My Eyes (Psalm 121) and When I See What You Can See are the songs of preparation.
The great trinitarian hymn Glory Be To God The Father will commence worship.
Our prayer of adoration and confession will acknowledge the distance between humanity and God and give thanks that Jesus has definitively brought God and his people together.
Jesus Keep Me Near The Cross will be our sung testimony, with The Apostles’ Creed and Now To Him Who Loved Us being our confession of faith.
In God’s Word, John 7:1-24 unfolds the beginning of Jesus’ teaching at the temple during the Feast of Booths.
We’ll continue to learn Jeremiah 31:33b, sharing our commitment to put God’s word in our hearts.
Be Strong And Courageous sings of the encouragement we have trusting in God’s promises.
After reading Hebrews 9:22-28 the sermon will focus on aspects of our once for all hope. The Jesus who entered the heavenly places bringing enduring purification by his blood puts our sins away once and for all, freeing our consciences in this life and beyond from guilt, enabling us to look forward to his return and completion of God’s saving purpose.
After our pastoral prayer, we’ll give our tithes and offerings, then conclude our worship singing Behold The Lamb Of God.
