Most trips to Hervey Bay provide the opportunity to join with John Roth and the folks at Hervey Bay Presbyterian for their evening service. (Sunday morning was at Maryborough Baptist with my sister and nephew.)
I almost always end up learning one new hymn.
If I ever learned There Shall Be Showers Of Blessing before I’d forgotten it.
Lovely fellowship.
1
There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.
Refrain:
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need:
Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.
2
There shall be showers of blessing,
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.
Refrain
3
There shall be showers of blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord;
Grant to us now a refreshing,
Come, and now honor Thy Word.
Refrain
4
There shall be showers of blessing:
Oh, that today they might fall,
Now as to God we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!
Refrain
5
There shall be showers of blessing,
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
If we let God have His way.
Refrain

Words: Daniel W. Whittle
Tune: Showers Of Blessing – James McGranahan

For something very different, here’s Willie Nelson’s rendition. (Verses 1-4)
Hopefully those showers are falling on Willie in abundance.
