Lord, Reign In Me / Over All The Earth by Brenton Brown is a thoughtful song which combines a sense of consecration with a recognition of God’s rule in every area of Christian life.
I like it because it’s more uptempo feel never slips over into triteness, but helps emphasise the sentiments of the lyrics with a sense of resolution.
There are a few versions of lyrics floating around, but I think these are pretty much the main ones.
1.
Over all the earth You reign on high
Every mountain stream, every sunset sky
But my one request, Lord, my only aim
Is that You’d reign in me again
Refrain.
Lord, reign in me, reign in Your power
Over all my dreams, in my darkest hour
‘Cause You are the Lord of all I am
So won’t You reign in me again
2.
Over every thought, over every word
May my life reflect the beauty of my Lord
‘Cause You mean more to me than any earthly thing
So won’t You reign in me again
Refrain.
Lord, reign in me, reign in Your power
Over all my dreams, in my darkest hour
‘Cause You are the Lord of all I am
So won’t You reign in me again
Repeat refrain.
Lord, reign in me, reign in Your power
Over all my dreams, in my darkest hour
‘Cause You are the Lord of all I am
So won’t You reign in me again
Won’t You reign in me again
Won’t You reign in me again
