Ryle’s content is sound, simple, devotional and always practical.
The brevity of the Matthew and Mark volumes expands into two volumes dealing with Luke, and then three for John’s Gospel, 2400 pages in total.
The three volumes which deal with John are an early example of modern commentaries.
Now, as one of my friends has indicated, this content can be obtained in digital form pretty cheaply. But Banner Of Truth publish quality hardcovers that will last for generations.
