It makes me feel good when people make complimentary comments about this blog.
But far and away the most common statement of reservation (I wouldn’t even call it ‘criticism’) is why I use a black background with white text.
Apparently it’s hard to read, and there is a lot of text.
Now that’s probably not an issue for rss and email readers.
It’s not even an issue for me.
Typing this up, I’m black text on white background and it’s fine for me.
And I read most of my blog content in google reader; black text on white.
So, that’s why I’ve changed the template of the blog to black on white.
It now looks slightly less idiosyncratic and quirky and more like a ‘proper’ blog, which I’m fine with.
I suppose the change underlines the fact that I want this blog to be as broadly accessible as possible.
It’s a window through which I can share with mgpc what I’m thinking about, reading, listening to and doing.
It disciplines me to write and reflect (and serves as something of an online filing cabinet. Try out that ‘search’ box at the top of the blog sometime.)
It’s a means of sharing that which I have found to be encouraging and useful with the wider church.
It’s a way to help mgpc and me interact with the church locally, nationally and internationally.
