I visited an older man (a retired minister who had served a neighboring parish in Melbourne) once as he was preparing to die. He told me that he and his wife had always wanted to die at the same time. He mentioned it more than once. That didn’t end up being God’s will for them, and it was pretty much their only regret. I thought of that again when I read this news article. For some reason I thought that older man would have liked this story.
A Des Moines, Iowa USA, couple who was married for 72 years died one hour apart last week in the hospital as they held hands.
