Friends, Mount Gambierites and Presbyterians lend me your browsers.
I gave the Mount Gambier Presbyterian Church website a facelift, wanting something simple (natch), open and clean, timeless, uncluttered and user-friendly.
If you want to direct your browsers over there and tell me what you think I’d appreciate it.
There’s nothing too startling to see, I’ve brought content over from the old site, updated some horrendously out of date information, designed an easier site to maintain, and set up at least one new page, along with an icon link to our Facebook page.
The front page will probably get a few better photos sooner rather than later, and I’ll sort out a copyright message that keeps turning up in the wrong places and why the font size on the copyright message and top line don’t seem to adjust to different screen resolutions.
Oh well.

Looks good and is easy for me to navigate. I often have trouble determining what is meant by the title of the link, yours is easy to understanbd.

  2. On my screen the Google map text bubble disappears above the map box, making the Close box (x) invisible. I tried changing the magnification of my screen to see if that changed any sizing options on Google maps but to no avail. It’s only a minor thing but you may like the feedback. Otherwise a clean, attractive page.

  3. Well yes,

It does look clean and simple and easy to find stuff. There are some links that don’t seem to connect. The lastest August Connextions for example opens April Connextions. The Links to Sound Creations and Worship Downloads don’t connect either. Good work.

need a new picture on the main page… The sign on the picture has the wrong service times. But I think you know that.

The tab at the top… in Firefox doesn’t say MGPC, it says “home” or “links” etc.

I understand that Koorong currently offers free postage for online orders over $100, but I think it would be better to say “(They offer free postage for larger orders)” perhaps with a second link to their page which states their amount, just in case they change it.
Also on the links page, the text for Monergism is black when other test is blue, as is the title “Denominational Links”. The copyright tag ends up as part of the Koorong spiel.
On News the link for August connexions brings up the April issue. All the other links appear to work OK.
On the whole an excellent website.

i would just like to ask about what kind of activities the presbyterian church does for the city of mt gambier. what services do you provide?

    1. Gary Ware's avatar Gary Ware says:

      Hi Julia,
Our people are part of many areas of Mount Gambier’s community life.
We’re trying to make sure our church activities are under-programmed in order to allow plenty of time for family, friends, social, work and school interactions.
Our organised activities focus on helping people grow as disciples of Jesus.
That said, we try to provide encouragements to the sick and lonely through our Care and Concern group and seek to provide social activities on an occasional basis.
The newsletters posted on the website give some insight into our church life.
      Thanks for your interest.
