I watched a man walk on the moon in my parent’s lounge room on a black and white television.
We lived over the road from the school where my mother was a teacher, so a bunch of other children were there as well.
When I watched those images and thought about the future it never occurred to me that we’d never go to Mars or that the last time man would return to the moon would be less than ten years later.
The final Space Shuttle launches and while there’s some attempt at making a big deal about it, everyone just seems saddened that that’s all folks.
Whatever happened to the future?
(I still want my flying car.)
Here’s a cartoon.
