An email notification that Love & War & The Sea In Between by Josh Garrels had been released came and went last week, but commendations by Alastair and then the Rabbit Room made me think again, especially since the album is free.
Lyrically dense, the tags for the album describe the musical style as ‘electronica folk neo-soul singer-songwriter’. It’s all that and a bit more.
At 18 tracks and 67 minutes, it’s not short either.
You can listen here, or at the album’s bandcamp page and decide for yourself.
Yeah. It’s a good un.
Have you listened to any of his previous stuff?
