One thing I do miss about not being able to attend many conferences is singing good songs with large numbers of other Christians.
And the excitement of discovering a really good new song in the context of corporate singing.
Mostly these days my gathered opportunities see me standing for a long time, wishing I could hear the congregation sing over the amplified leaders and hoping for lyrics a bit more meaningful than Bluetree’s ‘God Of This City’ (a ‘Shine, Jesus, Shine’ for the first decade of the new millennium, which is a shame, because the context in which the song was written deserves better than what it’s usually appropriated for).
So, when someone like Bob Kauflin posts the song lists from conferences which he’s participated in I’m always interested.
(I love reading the song-lists from any conference, BTW)
The bonus with Kauflin’s song-lists is that he also adds links to chord charts or the like for Sovereign Grace or public domain songs.
