Tonight at mgpc we hosted the other Christian churches in Mount Gambier to a citywide service. David Jones, Australian Presbyterian moderator general spoke from Titus 3:3-8 and we sang songs, prayed and listened to Scripture.
The songs I chose were See Him Coming; I Will Glory In My Redeemer; How Deep The Father’s Love For Us; Before The Father’s Throne Above; Never Alone; and we finished with David’s choice of My Hope Is Built On Nothing Less. All in all a pretty rich Christ centered evening of praise and worship. Though unplanned, various aspects of the songs were reflected in the sermon.
I think the only song from that list which I have not already posted as a Sunday Song is ‘I Will Glory In My Redeemer.’ I think it works well as either a slower song of reflection or, as we tried tonight, a bright declaration of faith.

Here are the lyrics to Steve and Vicki Cook’s composition. You can purchase sheet music and recordings of the song at the Sovereign Grace webstore, if you wish.
1.
I will glory in my Redeemer
Whose priceless blood has ransomed me
Mine was the sin that drove the bitter nails
And hung Him on that judgment tree
I will glory in my Redeemer
Who crushed the power of sin and death
My only Savior before the Holy Judge
The Lamb Who is my righteousness
The Lamb Who is my righteousness
2.
I will glory in my Redeemer
My life He bought, my love He owns
I have no longings for another
I’m satisfied in Him alone
I will glory in my Redeemer
His faithfulness my standing place
Though foes are mighty and rush upon me
My feet are firm, held by His grace
My feet are firm, held by His grace
3.
I will glory in my Redeemer
Who carries me on eagle’s wings
He crowns my life with lovingkindness
His triumph song I’ll ever sing
I will glory in my Redeemer
Who waits for me at gates of gold
And when He calls me it will be paradise
His face forever to behold
His face forever to behold
His face forever to behold

Steve and Vicki Cook.

This YouTube sounds like the recording from the Together For The Gospel live recording, with Bob Kauflin leading on grand piano and vocals (and doing a restrained version of his ‘Mr Shouty’ thing).
