Here’s a thoughtful post on the theology of C.S. Lewis.
Conservative evangelicals have appropriated Lewis as one of their (our) own.
Is this because, or in spite of what he really believed?
This article seeks to demonstrate that Lewis’ personal beliefs were closer to that of Anglo-Catholocism (an expression of the Anglican church which emphasises its doctrinal similarity to the Roman Catholic church.)
This post does not condemn Lewis, or the writings which have been admired by so many, rather it asks that he be read with discernment.

…it is somewhat surprising that Lewis has been received so widely among Evangelical Protestants, for Lewis’ views, especially the views he expressed towards the end of his life, were remarkably congruent with Anglo-Catholicism.
What is even more surprising is how many Protestant Evangelicals are unaware of that fact.
