A couple of years ago the Brisbane suburb of The Gap experienced a storm of cyclonic proportions. There was a lot of damage to property, including The Gap Presbyterian Church, where my friend Chris Perona serves as pastor.
Their worship center was rendered unusable by the storm, I don’t think the congregation ever worshipped in the building after the storm.
Chris offers some empathetic words to the sufferers of natural disaster, in Brisbane and beyond.
Here’s an excerpt:

While I commend the fighting spirit of Queenslanders, pastorally I’m hoping that we don’t lose ourselves in self sufficiency. My encouragement is that this disaster might turn our hearts towards Christ and not away from Him.
