Post from openbible.info about the most prevalent words that form the names of local churches in the USA.
One of the main differences I noticed is the use of the word ‘First’ as part of a church name. I can’t think of an instance of it being used in Australia. It features in 21% of Presbyterian church names in the USA.
Since there are only 789 St. Andrew churches listed for the US, I take it that the name is nowhere as widely used as in Australia.
The use of biblical mountain imagery in names e.g. ‘Mount Zion’, ‘Mount Olivet’ is not widespread here either.
Curiosity about the data aside, I’d never seen a Wordle before, either.

Statistically churches named “First” something must be in the minority right? Wordle is great for designing covers and for checking that your sermon’s “big idea” is prominent…
