As I wrote earlier, I’ve got no particular liking for crosses or their public display as a Christian symbol. In fact, I’d happily worship in a church that had none on display whatsoever.
But the motivation behind this challenge is not to readjust people’s present understanding or win them over to a new position, it’s an effort to create a legal starndar that was never the intent of the original framers of the laws, and then retroactively apply that standard on the past.
