Why do people who say they love the Bible; assert it teaches what they are to believe and do; claim that God’s Holy Spirit will work through the hearing of it when it is read; and maintain that it should be read as part of corporate worship: read so little of it in blocks; neglect the basing of their sermons or teaching on passages of it and deign instead to use it as a source of illustrations for the subjects they want to teach, if and when they use it all?
