Along with many other Australian Presbyterian churches, mgpc prayed for God’s blessing on the inaugural service of the third Presbyterian church in the Darwin region, Palmerston Presbyterian.
Rob Duncanson provides the following short report:
THANK YOU to everyone who prayed for us today. We had received messages assuring us of prayer support from every State and Territory in the country, and a few from overseas as well.
There were a few ‘learning experiences’ as we set up in a new venue, but we had an extremely encouraging start.
We had an attendance of 39, with ten of those having attended the morning service as well.
Ross Brightwell began a preaching series from Colossians, and spoke on verses 1-2 of chapter 1. A very encouraging sermon on “Celebrating God’s covenant mercies to you, His Church” – God’s past, present and future provision in Christ. I strongly suspect it would have been the best preaching that the Greater Darwin Area had seen for the day!Brothers and sisters it has been a struggle with satan throwing all kinds of diversionary tactics at us, but God has graciously provided, overcome and blessed.
This was the first Presbyterian church service to EVER be held in the City of Palmerston.
A most encouraging day. Thank you Father!
