This arrived in the mail yesterday.
The Conference theme:
How do you preach a song? A hymn? A prayer?
The Psalms give voice to our experience of our life of faith in God. Many Christians have their personal favourites that echo known truths and emotions so profoundly. They compass everything from heart-bursting joy to paralysing doubt to crushing grief. They are a precious part of God’s word.
So…how do we preach them well?
That’s what the 2011 SMBC Biennial Preaching Conference is about. We have six very able preachers to help us understand and preach the Psalms: Dale Ralph Davis, Mike Bullmore, Robert Amess, Kirk Patston, Stuart Coulton and Pierre Thielemans.
Ralph Davis’ preaching, particularly from the Old Testament, is as good as it gets. He is my favourite Old Testament commentator and expositor.
You can listen to his sermons here.
I’ve attended the previous two of these conferences, (at the Ryde campus) and cannot recommend them highly enough.
