So, I could tell you about 178 workers involved in cross cultural work, work amongst indigenous peoples, in Bangladesh, in Zambia, in Malawi, in the Sudan, in East Timor, in Myanmar, in countries where the name of Jesus may not be proclaimed as Saviour and Lord.
I could record the long-standing work in Vanuatu, where with personnel and building work we are fostering a solid biblical foundation among the leaders of the church in that country. Also funding averaging at over three-quarters of a million dollars each year that supports the work and relief and appeal funds amounting to four hundred and fifty thousand dollars which has supported various needs of Christian churches abroad.
I could also report of the ceaseless and selfless work of those involved in the Committee, with David Pilgrim (supported by Devona) laying down the role of convener after eighteen years and Bill Lutton (with Jenny working as basically a full-time administrator) retiring as director after nine years.
I could tell you these things, but if a picture is worth a thousand words, then I can save you having to read two thousand eight hundred words more.
A motion of thanks to David and Devona was moved, which was spoken to by Bruce Mellor. Such was the affection and respect of the house no one else came forward to speak, not because we didn’t want to, but because we all wanted to, I think. It was a wonderful moment.
