While I was browsing a bunch of stuff a Sunday School curriculum on the book of Judges bobbed up.
Here is part of the outline for the class lesson on the Ehud narrative from Judges 3:12-30.
• Dramatization of the story of Ehud and Eglon: Teacher tells the students what to do, step by step.
• Discussion suggestion: Discuss selfishness in relation to this story.
• Art suggestion: Make a dagger (of truth) one cubit in length, decorating the hilt with “jewels.”
‘Step by step’? Eww. (“Wear old clothes next Sunday, kids”)
‘Selfishness’?
I’m glad they clarify that the dagger is a dagger of truth. Not one of those daggers of lies.
Sigh.
(When I was a kid I would have loved this Sunday School)
