This is the greatest confessed cause of paralysis in evangelism.
Peter Sholl relates an encounter in an overseas hardware store with Sergio, an executive who was out of place on the shop floor in this post at the Sola Panel.
What could have been an awkward and frustrating encounter was successful because, as Sholl explains, “…a lack of knowledge or a fear of not knowing the answer didn’t stop Sergio. When we started asking questions he couldn’t answer, he wasn’t put off at all. He kindly and genuinely served us, and went out of his way to find answers to each of our questions. In between times, he warmly took an interest in our lives and shared his own life.”
The principle is one that should be simply transferred to gospel sharing situations.
A very helpful and encouraging article to read.
