After yesterday’s linking disappointment I’ll take another chance at pointing you to a very useful website.
BestCommentaries.com was recommended by the folk over at the Resurgence on the recommended reading links.
On this site you will comprehensive indexes for commentaries by series, biblical books and authors. Various reviews and recommendations from respected scholars and insitutions are also available. Links have been set up to a number of different booksellers to facilitate online shopping. Forthcoming volumes are listed, which is very helpful in terms of trying to track what’s coming out and when it will be available.
Of course not all of you will be jumping up and down with excitement.
Even some ministerial colleagues resist the temptation of book and commentary aquisition with great discipline. I feel that we are tremendously blessed with a lot of sound commentaries and collected preaching available today and I enjoy enriching my preaching and teaching by trying to bring that breadth of insight to folk who would not benefit from it otherwise.
Even a casual browse of this virtual library is interesting.
All in all, a website worth knowing.
